I'm doing science and I'm still alive

So I am still alive. Still very tired and stressy, but alive.
No boxes have really been unpacked yet, because I managed to bruise my sternum really badly the day after we got here, making all motions involved in unpacking boxes very painful. It hurts when I hiccup. It's getting better, though, so... hopefully soon?
I have an office again. I have... a desk? It is still not the desk I need, and I have given up attempting to get it from these people. While not as wobbly as the first desk, it's still shaky enough that I would be leery of putting my desktop on it even if I could. Which I cannot, because it has an upper platform that is too low for my monitor to fit under.
At this point, I'm not surprised, but very frustrated. I have told them multiple times exactly what kind of desk I need and why, they've seen my computer, aaand they still shove the first thing they can find at me.
But whatever. What the fuck ever. There is a place for my desktop in the living room, so I can at least use it for video games. I can continue using my laptop to write until we can afford getting me a new desk actually suitable to my needs (though that puts the screen so low that it's kind of hard for me to not hunch over it while I'm working, and... ow...). Who fucking knows when that will be, but it's the best we're going to get right now.
At least the dogs enjoy the yard. We have a TV again, so I get my desktop back. And we have a guest room, for when
thebonesofferalletters comes over or we want to kidnap our girlfriend from Texas or whatever. One day... These are good things.

But yeah. We shall get you a new desk with my bday money.

Anyway. I don't see how the top part comes out? But even so, the whole desk is still... tilted toward me for some reason, and that scares me, on top of the wobbly. I do not trust cats not to kill my things. :c

Hope the bruising heals fast for you.

I am a little disappointed the bruise is not actually visible as more than vague discoloration. It feels like it should be pretty spectacular, but there's not even anything to show people. :c

People who don't write don't understand how important the right desk is. It's stupid, but it's kind of out of their league a lot of the time, alas.
No excuse for any shakiness though. UGH.
*is currently working at a vintage dresser /because/ it doesn't move at all*

And you're right. I'm not even surprised or mad anymore, though I am vaguely annoyed that I told them exactly what kind of desk I needed and they... completely ignored it? At least the desk I want to buy isn't terribly expensive, and my partner's promised to put some of their birthday money next month toward that. So hopefully I will only be stuck dealing with this one for a little while.
